Hello! I'm Jarett

My name is Jarett Thurman and as you can tell by my page i love to do bird and wildlife photography.  I was born and raised in rural Southeast Kansas and have always enjoyed the outdoors and nature.  I started doing bird and wildlife photography in 2015 when i purchased my first camera, a Nikon Coolpix P520.  It was a great camera to start learning with and I definitely got my moneys worth out of it.  As I kept learning and taking photos i eventually wanted to upgrade to a bigger and better camera and lens, so i started saving money and eventually purchased my camera i’m using today, a Nikon D500 with a Sigma 150-600 lens.  I can’t even begin to tell you how many photos i have taken with it…let’s just say it’s alot!  I currently live in Gardner, KS with my wife Ginny and my two daughters, Katie and Maddy…they have to put up with me talking about birds all the time…LOL!  I like to go out to the local parks and lakes on the weekends and see what i can find to photograph.  The photos on here are just a sampling of the different species of birds and wildlife that are right here in Kansas!  I hope you enjoy my photos just as much as I like taking them!
